The **Fällkniven F1 VGWolf** is a top-quality survival knife, specifically designed for pilots working for the Swedish air force. It took 8 years to develop this model. The result of many tests and changing the design is an advanced, well thought-out and safe knife which combines strength with a modern design. The Fällkniven F1 is versatile and can be used while hunting, camping or during trekking or survival adventures.

The blade is made from, the in 2022 introduced, VGWolf steel. An upgraded version of the previous VG10W steel. VGWolf has a high concentration of tungsten (1.25%) The result is a better sharpness retention and the steel is a little tougher. The steel is laminated in between two layers of softer steel. As such the F1 retains its sharpness well, while at the same time it is a lot tougher than with a mono-steel construction.

The edge of the Fällkniven F1 is enhanced with a convex grind. This means that the blade is curved towards the edge. The result is an incredibly strong and sharp edge. To maintain this edge we recommend stropping it in time.

The handle is made from Thermorun. This is a rubber-like plastic that offers you enough grip. The fact that Fällkniven took the arctic climate of Sweden into account is clear when you look at the construction of the handle. The tang of the blade, the steel part that is located in the handle, is wrapped in Thermorun. As a result your hands won't freeze to the knife in very low temperatures. Even in the heat this works well because your hands won't burn if the knife was left in the sun for a while. So very well thought-out.

The Fällkniven F1 is one of the most popular outdoor knives ever. Its versatility, production quality and practical size make sure this knife can come in handy everywhere.

This version comes with a simple sheath that was specifically designed to be used by Swedish jet-fighter pilots. They can attach this sheath to the upper leg of their overalls with the help of a press stud. A cool collector's object, or for people who want to make their own attachment system.

overall, very good, the handle is very comfortable with no noticeable hot spots, lanyard hole is a nice touch. Very grippy.
blade is extremely sharp, almost too much as first heavy use slightly rolled the edge, i mean slightly though, a slight touch with the wetstone trimmed it up and tempered the sharpness to a more practical level for outdoor use rather than being like a scalpel.
