NiteCore 21700 battery - 3.6 Volt/ 4000 mAh

The **Nitecore Nl2140R 21700 battery with USB-C-port** has a capacity of 4000 mAh. This battery is enhanced with a USB-C-port. With it you can easily plug the USB-cable directly into the battery. As such you don't have to put it in a charger. A unique function! The control light tells you if the battery is fully charged.

 A 21700 Li-Ion battery is twice as powerful as a regular 18650/ 2300 mAh-battery. Please note, however: a 21700 battery is not a replacement for the 18650 battery. This battery can only be used in various flashlights that were specifically designed for this type.
**Please note:** This battery has a flat-top. That means that the battery is flat on both sides. Not every flashlight will work with this type of battery. So carefully check whether this is the right battery for your flashlight model!

 ## Emergence of the 21700 Li-Ion battery

 This battery was introduced by the electric car industry. Because of its long life span, high energy density and powerful performances, however, these electronics also ended up in the flashlight market. Today more and more flashlight are developed that are enhanced with a 21700 Li-Ion battery. All these batteries are enhanced with a protective circuit. It protects the cells from overcharging, undercharging and short-circuiting.

 Some people say: 'I take good care of my batteries, I charge them as little as possible!' In the case of Lithium Ion batteries that is not the right thing to do. These batteries will last a whole lot longer if you charge them on a regular basis.
