## Tojiro Basic Damascus series

With the Basic Damascus series, Tojiro combines two of their most popular knife series: the Basic series and the DP37 series. The Basic Damascus knives feature the bolster-less pakkawood handle of the Basic series, and the beautiful 37-layered damascus steel blade of the DP37 series. Lacking the bolster, these knives are lighter in weight and nice to work with for long periods of time. In addition, the knives also look amazing thanks to their damascus steel blade. In short: the best of both worlds!

## Tojiro Basic Damascus blade

The blade is made of 37 layers of damascus steel. The core is made of VG10 steel, with 18 layers of damascus steel on either side. This ensures a strong and flexible blade that looks beautiful without compromising on cutting performance. This forging technique is very well known in Japan and you see it a lot on Japanese kitchen knives.

## Tojiro Basic Damascus handle

The lightweight handle feels great in hand. It is made from compressed layers of thin wood and synthetic resin, better known as pakkawood.
