The **Benchmade Bugout 535FE-05 Crater Blue** is a special edition of the famous Bugout. Originating from a collection of knives for which Benchmade used nature as a starting point. The colour composition of the blade and the handle, of this version, has a nautical theme. The dark blue handle represents the icy depths of the sea, and the Flat Dark Earth Cerakote blade finish the adjacent shoreline.

Other than that this special Bugout is exactly as you have grown accustomed to from the original. The Bugout was designed for hikers who pay attention to every gram. With 55 grams and an 8.2 cm blade, this knife is definitely the answer they have been looking for. The Bugout is ideal for preparing food, feather sticks to light your fire and opening packages.

The blade is made from CPM S30V steel with a hardness of 58-60 HRC. With a very thin edge. Perfectly sharpened for peeling an apple. CPM S30V is very stainless and retains its sharpness very well. It is also easy to sharpen.

The handle is made from Grivory. A light-weight type of plastic that is remarkably strong for its weight. The knife features steel liners at the front of the handle for additional strength around the lock.

The Benchmade Bugout is enhanced with a slightly shorter deep-carry pocket clip than you have seen before on most models. Less steel means less weight: another detail that was carefully thought through. You can place the clip on either side, making it the perfect knife for both left-handed and right-handed use.​

Tellement déçu de celui-ci. superbe couteau mais aucune âme. De plus le choix du cerakote est sympa mais pas au point, cela s'abîme bien trop vite, une semaine après, juste quelques repas, et déjà des marques...
tranchant exécrable en sortie de boîte et mécanisme pas super fluide, encore une fois sûrement dû au cerakote je pense. 

In deze kleuren een mooi mes. Word redelijk scherp geleverd. Is erg ligt en klein en daarom erg makkelijk om bij je te hebben. Het handvat is wel aan de kleine kant en het mes voelt wat kwetsbaar. Tot nu toe is er nog niks mis mee maar als ik weet dat ik veel of zware snijtaken ga uitvoeren heb ik toch liever iets substantielers bij me.

Als lichte verzamelaar had ik natuurlijk al veel gelezen over dit mes. Nu met veel tegoedbonnen durfde ik het wel aan. Een bugout, ik hou nooit van de standaard. Dus deze kleursamenstelling was een mooie. 
Uiteraard topservice bij k&t, zoals altijd. 
Bij het uitpakken viel het wat tegen. Licht, plastic en ook dat gevoel. Maar je moet schakelen dat dit mes juist zo ontworpen is. Ik loop wel eens met (mijn favoriete merk) Spyderco s op zak de civilian, paramilitary en tenacious. 
Ook een SOG quake. Robuuste messen. 
Voor 200,- vind ik de bugout dan ook aan de hoge kant, ergens mis ik dan wel alu grips. 
Waardoor het mes toch langzaam naar mij toe groeit, gecoate lemmet met goed staal. Toch wel die gewichtloosheid want zo voelt het. En dat ondanks het lichte gewicht dit mesje zijn volwassen taken goed aankan. Ook de bediening is verslavend. Bij wat handigheid voelt het auto assist. Kortom prijzig, maar niet te missen in de kast van een messenverzamelaar.
