The **Böker Plus Tracker** is a large survival knife, designed by Dave Wenger. The special Tracker shaped blade may take some getting used to. However, when you see the quality of the knife and discover how you can use the shape to your advantage, it is suddenly a great survival tool! The knife has a lot of weight close to the tip. Perfect for chopping kindling. The straight edge close to the handle is perfect for small cutting tasks like making a featherstick. In turn, the hollow at the center of the edge is ideal for cutting rope or saplings. 

## Böker Plus Tracker handle and material

A solid outdoor knife requires a strong construction from quality materials. This is why these knives feature a full-tang construction and the blade is made from 1095 carbon steel. An incredibly strong type of steel that is popular for survival knives because it can take a beating. 1095 steel is extremely tough, so it won't break easily. Watch out for rust though! 1095 steel is not corrosion-resistant. Fortunately Böker enhanced the blade with a coating. But the edge and potential wear and tear in the coating can occasionally use a couple drops of oil to prevent rust. 

We admit, this shape of knife is difficult to sharpen. But it's far from impossible! We recommend you use a round sharpening steel or a sharpening stone with rounded edges. The handle is made from micarta. A strong material that feels great in hand. Even in wet conditions. The Böker Plus Mini Tracker comes with a sleek kydex sheath.
