The **Casström No. 10 Swedish Forest Knife** is an amazing outdoor knife made in Sweden. When you hold this knife for the first time you will immediately notice the amazing ergonomics. This knife feels absolutely amazing in hand! The somewhat strange looking ‘dent’ in the handle contributes to the grip. Casström has designed this knife as an all-round outdoor knife. Hunting, fishing, bushcraft, food prep: this knife can do it all!


The blade is made from Swedish Sandvik 14C28N steel. Stainless, easy to sharpen and it will retain its sharpness for quite a long time. This edition has been enhanced with a scandi grind. As such the blade is a little thicker and the edge a little more suited for woodwork.


The handle is made from exquisite Curly Birch. Casström stabilized this wood to make it as sustainable as possible. A black liner has been placed in between the wood and the handle.


The Casström No. 10 Swedish Forest Knife comes with a decent leather sheath with a belt loop for belts up to (approximately) 6 cm.

Het mes kwam niet scherp uit de doos. Meer zelfs, er zat zelf een kapje in de snede. Na 45' slijpen etc. heb ik dit wel opgelost gekregen en is het mes scheermesscherp geworden. Het heft is wel heel mooi en het mes ligt ook heel goed in de hand. De schede is naar mijn mening iets te klein waardoor het heft van het mes er nogal hoog uitsteekt. Maar dat is geen breekpunt. 

Ein sehr schöner „Handschmeichler“!
Das Messer liegt bei mir, Handschuhgröße 10, wunderbar in der Hand.
Klingengeometrie und Ergonomie sind für mich hervorragend.
Ich kann das Messer sehr empfehlen.
Die schnelle Lieferung und die Kommunikation mit Knives and Tools ist vorbildlich.

Klare Kaufempfehlung!

Zweeds ontwerp en gemaakt bij Joker in Albacete Spanje, mooie verhoudingen en ligt goed in de hand, mooi afgewerkt, high end finish. Wel zelfde fout zoals bij veel bushcraftmessen...het prachtige gestabiliseerde curly birch handvat is veel te glad afgewerkt, erg gevaarlijk met erg droge of natte of bezwete handen! Ideale lengte en gewicht voor hiking en bushcraft, perfecte 90graden spine voor de firesteels of scraping van tondel, en ik koos voor een van mijn voorkeurs staalsoorten Sandvik14C28N omdat ik hier al door de jaren erg goede ervaringen mee heb en onderhoudsvriendelijker dan de koolstofsoorten. Spijtig dat de sheath met firesteel lus niet te verkrijgen was, heb die moeten aankopen op de Zweedse Casstrom website samen met de dangler loop. Ik denk wel dat er een probleem is met de scandi slijping of de tempering, na amper 2 tentharingen te hebben gesneden uit normaal hout vertoonde mijn snede over het ganse snijvlak "chipping en rolling"!!! Heel ongewoon voor deze staalsoort, heb een tiental messen met sandvik en had ik nog nooit na zo licht gebruik. Voor alle zekerheid heb ik een second bevel eraan geslepen en hoop dat het probleem opgelost is?! Nu weer scheermesscherp en ga het binnenkort nog eens uitvoerig testen. Voor de rest wel een mooi mes en prijs kwaliteit zeker een aanrader op voorwaarde dat het probleem met het "chippen en rollen" van de snede niet meer voorkomen! Zoals altijd een snelle levering van K&T.
