Since there are dozens of reviews of the Cogent on YouTube, I will only say the following: Pros [+] + Damascus pattern, edge and tip hold well after about a month of regular — knife, not wedge, prybar, drill, etc.! — use and minimal [sensible] care + Grip Space: adequate without being oversize [blade/handle ratio is good] + Value for Money: I view this knife as a different take on/ultralight or gents’ version of the Cold Steel Recon 1, with good looks and a micarta handle, moreover since I got it at a promotion [discounted] price… happy dayz! Cons [-] - Balance: just at the centre of the three slanted grooves behind the button lock — I would like it less back-heavy, however this does not much affect usage - Pocket Clip: creaky, squeezy and… rotaty, feels rather flimsy and has quite some play — if it was 1mm wider [as it now sinks a bit in the groove in the middle of the handle)], also 0.5mm thicker and [therefore] stiffer, it would be sturdier and feel more reassuring, also, in my opinion, a black stonewashed pocket clip would be more fitting — at least for my model — finally, that duckbill protrusion is an embarrassment — to both manufacturer and users; the Cogent pocket clip needs serious reworking - Stop pin is rather thin — Civivi might be able to squeeze another millimetre of thickness in there without weakening the tang of the blade Knives and Tools service impeccable! I got a good copy, without any issues apart from the occasional lock stick — nothing some good lubrication cannot take care of.
