The **CRKT M16** is probably the most iconic CRKT model ever designed. This knife, which was designed by Kit Carson is an homage to the M16 assault rifle, has been around for quite some time. This M16-03KS is a slim and pointed version. Because the flipper serves as a support for your finger when opened, slipping and ending up on the blade is almost impossible. 

This version of the M16 is enhanced with a couple cool upgrades: an assisted opening mechanism, a deadbolt lock and D2 steel. The assisted opening ensures that you can quickly open the knife with the flipper. This mechanism is enhanced with a spring that supports you when you open the knife.

Once opened the Deadbolt Lock will provide you with a solid lock. The unique part of the Deadbolt lock is the hardened steel wedge that falls into the cut-outs in the blade This construction is so strong it can handle quite a lot. Using it is also easy: you simply press the large pivot to close the blade.

The blade is made from D2 steel. This is a tough type of steel that can handle its own. Do, however, be careful with acids. D2 steel is  not completely stainless.

The blade and frame are both enhanced with a matt-black coating. As such you prevent rust and reflections. It also looks *bad ass*.

van het moment dat je deze uit het doosje neemt voel je 1 dingetje... kwaliteit ... de finesse straalt ervan... een beetje machine olie hier en daar en hij loopt als een trein... nergens geen spel op het mes en je krijgt hem vlijmscherp... zeer tevreden met deze koop.

The knife is very well made, sturdy and reliable.
The assisted opening is also reliable ad it makes the knife very safe in close position because it provides a strong retention. 

The knife can not be unassisted.

Deadbolt lock is working well so far, no blade play and no pivot loosening. 

The aluminum scales are very sturdy  but  slippery.

All the steel, blade, clip and liners are acid stonewashed, I appreciate it a lot, it makes the knife quite rust resistant and good looking.

D2 it is a good steel for blades, no fancy stuff.

Price is a bit high but not so much in my opinion.

All in all a very good upgrade of the iconic m16, with a more grippy aluminum scales is would be perfect.
