## Handle and blade

The stainless steel blade's surface features an intriguing partially-hammered finish. Originally, these dents were the result of the blacksmith's hammer. In Japan, this finish is known as Tsuchime. This finish isn't just there for looks, it also prevents food from sticking to the blade. The handle is made from coloured G10. This is a very sturdy plastic that is resistant to moisture, heat and falls.

## How to maintain your Eden Elements kitchen knives

Always wash your Eden Elements knives by hand. When you put these knives in the dishwasher, water can stay behind in the little dimples of the blade. This makes the steel more likely to rust. In addition, detergent can also affect the handles of these knives, causing them to become dull over time. Keep your knives looking great and wash them by hand!

Un couteau bien banal dans la lignée des chinoiseries actuelles s'inspirant des profils japonais. Le premier problème rencontré : le poids vraiment élevé. Le second, lié au premier, l'épaisseur de la lame : 2mm au talon, c'est beaucoup. Le manche est très lourd aussi mais cela compense le poids de la lame et l'équilibre reste bon (au niveau du choil).
L'affûtage en sortie de boite est bof-bof, pas rasoir et il faudra un peu de temps pour obtenir un tranchant rasoir qui ne durera pas étant donné l'acier de forgeage.
Le couteau est beau mais il ne faut ne pas s'attendre à avoir un vrai Santoku. Le prix est attractif quoiqu'un peu cher pour une chinoiserie. Le jardin d'Eden pourrait offrir des fruits plus rares... 

Het mes komt scherp uit de doos. 
Ik heb deze nog even bijgeslepen met een rolling sharpener onder een hoek van 15 graden voor een zeer scherp resultaat. 
Heeft geen probleem om vlees, vis, kip of groenten te snijden. 
Zelfs een grote pompoen gesneden zonder probleem.
