The Corsican ‘Sperone’ series (Sperone means ‘spur’ in the Corsican dialect) is a somewhat more solid and robust series than other knives in the Fontenille Pataud range. The outline of the island of Corsica is embossed on the spring and on the blade is the renowned ‘Moor’s Head’, the symbol of Corsica.   
  


All Fontenille Pataud knives are manufactured from only the finest, top-quality materials. The bee and spring are forged from one piece of steel and are not welded together. Everything about these knives reflects quality and every time you use these knives, you are able to appreciate this superb quality!

Het is een schitterend mes met een goede ligging in de hand, exact wat ik verwachte en zeer snelle levering. Helaas is het mes niet scherp en diende het zelf te slijpen, voor een dergelijk mes mag ik toch verwachten dat het scherp is bij aflevering.

Un très beau couteau, conçu et fabriqué pour la vie, à défaut d'éternité.

Een schitterend mes! Dit model oogt in haar prachtige eenvoud als een keukenmes en is dat feitelijk ook; tot aan het puntje goed te gebruiken. De curve van het lemet is anders dan de overige messen van Fontenille Pataud. Dit maakte dat ik bij de keuze tussen de zwaarder uitgevoerde messen van Fontenille Pataud voor deze heb gekozen. Het mes wordt niet zeer scherp geleverd, hetgeen ik overigens als een voordeel heb ervaren, want hierdoor kun je het mes zelf meteen van de gewenste snijhoek voorzien (en slijpen zul je altijd bij een mes moeten doen). Het staal is goed te slijpen overigens - vlijmscherp.
