Give the handle a light sand with some 180 grit. Oil the handle with boiled linseed. Taylor the edge to your needs with the sharpening puck on this site. Solid Sharp Comfortable

A well-made and well-balanced axe. Grind on the blade was a little off centre but was easily fixed.

First axe. Materials are good quality but it requires some effort on your part to get this up to perfect condition. I sanded the handle and re applied a few coats of boiled linseed oil. I would recommend using some gloves, like riggers when using it, I'm not very experienced and first time i used the axe I got blisters easily (my fault). The axe head is solid Swedish steel and even a little blind it splits wood quite well. I'm still trying it learn how to sharpen it properly but it requires a sharpen if you plan to fell small trees.

When I received the axe it had a small chip in the blade. However after a few hours using it on a camping trip and re sharpening made it good as new. It's a very good axe good weight and very nice hickory handle.

Really good weight and feels good. Haven't used properly yet to see if it holds its sharpness but came very sharp. Cant say a bad word
