The **Ontario RAT 7** is a solid survival knife with a blade made from 1095 carbon steel. This is strong type of steel that is easy to sharpen. The extremely sustainable powder coating on the blade protects it from the increased corrosion sensitivity of the carbon steel. That is why we recommend to keep this knife dry and possibly slightly greasy. The wonderful usage qualities of the steel guarantee a lifetime of pleasure. The knife is enhanced with a micarta handle The handle feels slightly coarse which is great because it is comfortable to hold and offers enough grip. 

The RAT-7 is a medium-sized and solid knife that can withstand heavy-duty use. If its size and weight might be a little too much the RAT-3 and RAT-5 are great smaller alternatives. It is great to always have a knife close when you go out in nature. A knife that is large enough to work with and is also compact enough to comfortably carry with you. 

The ergonomics of the handle are excellent. The handle is enhanced with a curve for your index finger. The heel of the blade also has one of these curves. If you put your index finger in that curve you can place your thumb on the blade. The ridges on top of the blade are in just the right place for your thumb and provide you with additional grip. As such you have more control over the knife. 

The back of the knife has a large hole for a lanyard. The back of the blade runs throughout the handle. As such you can also use the knife as a hammer. Although it is not a real glass breaker, given the heavy version, this knife can break through a thick layer of glass.

This Ontario RAT-7 comes with a solid nylon sheath. With the sheath you can always safely take the knife with you and it is MOLLE compatible.

Un cuchillo espectacular muy muy recomendable un 💯💥🔥 .

A faca veio muito bem embalada demorou cerca de uma semana a chegar as minhas mãos. É uma muito bonita exatamente como nas imagens do site. Vendedor sério  bom apoio ao cliente. Amplamente recomendável. Certamente vou voltar comprar na Knives and Tools. és. Muito obrigado !!!!!... 

Ce couteau est capable de gros travaux et rien ne l'effraie. La conservation du tranchant est top pour un acier 1095. L'étui est tres correct pour le prix. Seul point négatif, le retour des poignées en micarta est assez plat et le couteau aura tendance à glisser sans l'usage de dragonnes.

Dit mes is preccies zoals ik dacht dat 'ie zou zijn ; robuust en klaar voor het werk waarvoor het bedoelt is!
Hij was al scherp 'out-of-the-box, maar met wat extra slijpen, is het vlijmscherp. ( het koolstofstaal is erg prettig te slijpen)
Ik was bang dat het heft wat te lomp was voor mijn handen, maar het tegendeel is waar: het ligt pefrect in de hand , en is prima in ballans.
Dit is voor mij echt zoals een goed mes moet zijn, en goed te betalen !
Ik geef het 6 sterren van de 5 !


Un bon couteau très proche d'aspect du esee 6 même poignée et même épaisseur de lame,tout en étant un peu plus long de lame. Le revêtement anti corrosion est correct et ne serait rivaliser avec son concurrent mais c'est pas très grave.  Le seul regret c'est son étuis très bof en nylon. Perso je regrette qu'il ne soit pas fournit avec un étuis à sa hauteur. C'est un vrais couteau de travail, pas pour rester en vitrine 😀
