## Rite in the Rain waterproof notebooks


[Rite in the Rain](/en/ct/rite-in-the-rain.htm) has made waterproof notebooks in many different sizes and colours. The paper is nearly indestructible and practically doesn’t age. The coating makes sure the paper is waterproof. This means that any writing tools that work with aqueous ink hardly or do not impact the paper at all. Our advice is to combine the notebook with a pencil or all-weather pen. If the coating deteriorates the paper might still get wet. Unlike synthetically or polyester coated paper you can recycle this type of paper. Great when you need to use it underwater, outside when it is wet or in humid surroundings such as swimming pools and greenhouses. Use a pencil or an all-weather pen and you will never lose your notes again!


## Modestone waterproof notebooks


[Modestone's](/en/ct/modestone.htm) story began when important notes written down by establisher Kalle were destroyed by water while he was serving in the Finnish army. The idea for a waterproof notebook soon emerged. Key was finding the right materials. The notebooks are made from 80% CaCo3 (calcium carbonate, limestone) and 20% HDPE (High Density Polyethylene). As such you no longer need a special coating to make the product waterproof. This unique formula has led to nearly indestructible, oil and waterproof paper which even works when you are not using a pen. You can namely also write on it using an object containing metal.

A waterproof notebook is great to document your findings regardless of the weather. The paper can be used underwater, outside when it is wet or in humid surroundings such as swimming pools and greenhouses. Combine a waterproof notebook with an all-weather pen and you will have a reliable combination that will function regardless of the weather.
