The **Bark River Mini Canadian** is one of the most popular small knives in the Bark River range. At first glance you might think: what a strange-looking knife. A long handle, a short blade, and such a strange middle. We get it! However, when you hold it you'll immediately understand what makes the Mini Canadian so special.

Ergonomically speaking, this knife is close to perfect. The large handle and the finger grooves ensure that you have plenty of grip. Your hand is close to the cutting edge, so you have lots of control over the knife. And the large ricasso, the flat part in between the handle and the blade, ensures that you can hold it in a variety of ways. The Bark River Mini Canadian can be used for EDC or hunting purposes. It's a simple knife, but it is highly effective and very useful.

Please note: we usually measure the blade from the front of the handle to the blade. Which in this case is 7.4 cm. However, in this case it is worth mentioning that the blade itself (the part with the sharp grind) is 5.4 cm long.

The blade is made from CPM 3V steel. This is a type of tool steel that is known for its exceptional strength. It won't break and will retain its sharpness well. You do need to be careful with moisture and acids: CPM 3V is not completely stainless. Make sure to clean the knife after use and occasionally apply a drop of oil to keep it in great shape. The edge has been enhanced with a convex grind which you can maintain by [stropping it](/en/ct/stropping.htm).

The handle is made from Wenge wood. A strong and dark type of wood with nice markings. 

The Bark River Mini Canadian comes with a leather belt sheath (max. belt width 4.0 cm).

Bark River Knives makes all of their knives almost entirely by hand. As a result, each knife is unique. Especially when working with natural materials, a knife will have a unique look. The knife you receive can therefore be subtly different from the product photos. The model and type of material, however, will always be the same.
