The **Bark River Quartermaster** is a cool fixed knife, designed by Matt Marin from Vehement Knives, in cooperation with Bark River Knives. The Quartermaster was clearly inspired by the classic military knives from the Second World War. But more solidly constructed and with an amazing finish. An amazing knife for your collection, or for hunting or survival purposes.



The blade is made from CPM 3CV-steel. A tool steel that is known for its exceptional strength. As such it won't break and will retain its sharpness well. You do, however, need to be careful with moisture and acids: CPM 3V is not completely stainless. So clean it after use and occasionally add a drop of oil to keep this knife in great shape. The edge has been enhanced with a convex grind which you can maintain by [stropping it](/en/ct/stropping.htm).



The handle of the Bark River Quartermaster is made from micarta. A strong and light-weight material, made from linen and synthetic resin. Feels comfortable in hand, even in wet or cold circumstances. On both sides the handle is flanked by a steel knife guard and a steel pommel. The amount of manual labour involved is unimaginable for a (semi-)production knife such as this.



The Bark River Quartermaster comes with a nice leather belt sheath.



Bark River makes all of its knives almost completely by hand. As such each knife is unique. Especially when working with natural materials a knife can differ from the photographs. The knife you receive can therefore be subtly different from the product photos. The model and type of material, however, will always be the same.
