The **Bark River Woodland Special** is a compact fixed knife, designed for daily use. Its blade might appear to be small, you will be amazed what you can do with the Woodland Special. You can also use it as a very compact bushcraft knife. Its handle is long enough for a solid grip with a mature hand.



The blade is made from A2 tool steel. A strong type of steel that would rather bend than break. You do, however, need to be careful with moisture and acids: A2 is not completely stainless. So clean it after use and occasionally add a drop of oil to keep this knife in great shape. The edge has been enhanced with a convex grind which you can maintain by [stropping it](/en/ct/stropping.htm).


The handle is made from canvas micarta. A strong and light-weight material, made from linen and synthetic resin. Feels comfortable in hand, even in wet or cold circumstances.


The Bark River Woodland Special comes with a leather belt sheath (max. belt width 6.0 cm).


Bark River makes all of its knives almost completely by hand. As such each knife is unique. Especially when working with natural materials a knife can differ from the photographs. The knife you receive can therefore be subtly different from the product photos. The model and type of material, however, will always be the same.
