This **Kai Tim Mälzer Kamagata utility knife** was designed by famed German TV chef Tim Mälzer and manufactured by Kai's Japanese knife masters. It is not the first collaboration between Kai and Mälzer. Last time they joined forces, this resulted in the beautiful Kai Shun Tim Mälzer Premier collection, which turned out to be a real winner! We expect nothing less from this new Kamagata collection!

This utility knife, in contrast to the other Kai Tim Mälzer utility knife, has a pointy tip. This makes precise cutting tasks even easier. 

## Kamagata: a remarkable shape

In Japan, Kamagata stands for the specific shape for kitchen knives. The traditional Kamagata Usuba has a completely straight edge and a curved spine. The knives in the Tim Mälzer Kamagata collection were inspired by this, but have their own specific characteristics. This utility knife, for instance, has a sharp tip and a slight curve in the edge. This combination makes the knife perfect to make rocking movements with.

## Extremely corrosion-resistant steel

The blade of this Kai utility knife is made from 1.4116 stainless steel. The main advantage of this steel is that it is corrosion resistant and easy to sharpen. The stylish black full-tang handle, is made from polyoxymethylene (POM), a sturdy type of plastic.
