Kai Shun Tim Mälzer Kamagata: functionality and minimalist aesthetics combined

The Tim Mälzer Kamagata series is a budget-friendly collection of kitchen knives. Kai achieved this by using affordable materials. Of course, these materials still meet Tim Mälzer's high quality standards. The focus of this series is on functionality, robust quality and minimalist aesthetics. It's a complete collection consisting of nine kitchen knives. There is a knife for every cutting task. The showstopper of this series is the hybrid chef's knife which combines the best features of a chef's knife, a santoku and a nakiri. 'Kamagata' is Japanese for 'crescent-shaped', referring to the blades' characteristic curvature.

Features of Kai Shun Tim Mälzer Kamagata

Shun Tim Mälzer Kamagata blade

The blades are made of 1.4116 stainless steel with a hardness of 56 HRC. This relatively low level of hardness makes these knives easy to sharpen. Perfect for the novice amateur chef or even professional chefs! 1.4116 stainless steel is highly corrosion-resistant, so you won't have to worry about maintenance much. Tim Mälzer's signature on the blade is a nice touch. Although these knives are affordably priced, Tim Mälzer takes great pride in this series.

Shun Tim Mälzer Kamagata handle

The handles are ergonomically shaped. These knives are suitable for right-handed use as well as left-handed use, since the handles are symmetrical. The handles are made from POM. This is a lightweight, low-maintenance and waterproof material. The ‘kitchen bull’, Tim Mälzer's personal trademark, adorns the end of the handle just like with other Tim Mälzer series.
