## Blade made of 154CM steel
The blade of the Kizer Bugai V3627C1 Green Micarta, Stonewash, pocket knife, D.Antimonov design is made of 154CM steel, an American type of steel that is very corrosion resistant and retains its sharpness well. Moreover, for a stainless steel, it is quite tough. Many knife steels were actually developed for other applications, and this is the case for 154CM too. It was originally designed for use in jet engines. It was knife maker Bob Loveless who made 154CM popular for use as a knife steel in the 1970s.



The ‘stonewash’ process was chosen for the finish of this blade. The stonewash process involves the blade being placed inside a drum with ceramic stones, or media, and then vibrated or tumbled for several hours. The result is a finish that looks precisely polished or roughened depending on the version. The advantage of stonewashing, however, is that signs of use are much less noticeable. That makes it a popular choice for knives that see a lot of use.



## Micarta handle

The handle of this Kizer  is made of micarta and measures 10,6 cm in length. Micarta is a great material for pocket knife handles. This material is grippy, relatively lightweight and it looks very cool. It is composed of fabric fibres and synthetic resin. The resulting layers often even make micarta look a bit like wood. However, it is a very stable and strong material.

Prima zakmesje van Kizer in de kwaliteit die ik van ze gewend ben. Het blad is mooi vormgegeven en heeft een mooie finish. Niet om te prikken, wel om te snijden. Ondanks dat het een vrij klein mesje is en niet zwaar, voelt hij behoorlijk robuust aan, maar niet om onder druk te zetten. Dat is zonde en zijn andere messen voor.
Hij had van mij wel wat goedkoper gemogen, zodat een aankoop gemakkelijker herhaald kan worden. Want dit is wel eentje om te gebruiken en waarvan het helemaal niet erg is om er een tweede van te hebben (een zakmes kun je ook verliezen helaas, zoals mij recent nog is overkomen). Samengevat: Prima aankoop!
