With the **LifeStraw Personal Water Filter** you can easily filter water on the go. You can drink straight from puddles and running water with this filter. The LifeStraw Personal is the LifeStraw water filter reduced to the essentials. It's the water filter in a tube. Ideal as a backup. It is also a great way to save weight during trekking trips where water is readily available.

## What does this LifeStraw filter?

  * Bacteria: 99.9999% (LOG 6 reduction). This LifeStraw filters E. coli and other bacteria from water.

  * Protozoa: 99.9% (LOG 3 reduction). Protozoa is a collective term for single-celled parasites. Frequently occurring protozoa that LifeStraw successfully filters from the water are Giardia and Cryptosporidium. 

  * Viruses: unfortunately this filter does not remove viruses from the water. 

## Cleaning the water filter

If the primary filter is saturated with dirt, you won't be able to drink from it. Blow air into the filter via the mouthpiece to blow the dirt out of the filter. If you're no longer able to remove the dirt in this way, you need to replace the filter.
