Polished black Micarta is very nice indeed. All made from one block giving the knife perfect feel and balance. Came sharp a little rough when opening rougher than the other one ordered. Drop of oil in the pivot lots of opening and closing and I'm nearly there. Suppose they've been sitting a while that's all. Perfect size for the UK I tried the fk5 in carbon fibre ( many years ago and in my opinion for me too small. There is no stop pin or kick so closing needs to be gentle process as I don't want the edge ruined by hitting the micatra and causing blade wrap when closed. For the money the amount of craftsmanship that goes into making these knives is quite remarkable. Lovely knife the D2 hasn't put me off specially with a drop of mineral oil after use this knife won't rust it will last for many a year more.
