The **Pro-Tech Mordax MX106-GRIDLOCK** is a sturdy, no-nonsense EDC pocket knife with a tough look. This knife features a beautiful drop-point blade, a blade shape known to be a fantastic all-rounder. In addition, the blade has a relatively large finger groove, allowing you to get up-close to the blade and have lots of control. Great for more precise cutting tasks. The Pro-Tech Mordax MX106-GRIDLOCK, Black DLC MagnaCut, Textured Black Aluminum, pocket knife is a hefty EDC knife in the colour black. With its blade length of 9,5 cm, it's especially suited for demanding cutting tasks. This is not a compact knife! When closed, it measures 11,8 cm in length and it weighs 110 g.



The Pro-Tech Mordax MX106-GRIDLOCK, Black DLC MagnaCut, Textured Black Aluminum, pocket knife opens quickly thanks to the flipper. Because the knife is equipped with ball bearings, the action is very smooth. Once opened, a button lock ensures the knife won't unintentionally snap shut during use. In terms of ease of use, this is one of the best locking mechanisms on the market.



## Blade made of CPM Magnacut steel
The blade of this Pro-Tech  is made of CPM Magnacut steel, possibly the most revolutionary steel of the 21st century. MagnaCut offers an unrivalled balance between sharpness retention, toughness, corrosion resistance and ease of sharpening. Since the release of CPM MagnaCut in 2021, it has become one of the most popular steels in the world of knives. The MagnaCut blade of this pocket knife measures 9,5 cm in length.

## History of CPM Magnacut 
This type of steel was developed by Dr Larrin Thomas, a metallurgist who has dedicated his career to improving knife steel. He is the son of Devin Thomas, a famous damascus smith who supplied Chris Reeve Knives with steel for many years. Dr Larrin Thomas works in the automotive industry but is passionate about knife steels. He thought it should be possible to do better, and together with Crucible Industries came up with CPM MagnaCut. The blade is finished with a DLC coating, which stands for ‘Diamond Like Carbon’. It's a very hard coating that is even harder than the steel. This makes DLC very scratch-resistant, and this coating protects the blade against corrosion. DLC is very hard, but it is also only a thin layer: eventually, you will always see signs of use.



## Aluminium handle
The handle of the Pro-Tech  is made from aluminium. The handle measures 11,8 cm in length. Aluminium is pleasantly lightweight and easy for the manufacturer to work with. As a result, it is a very popular choice for handles. Aluminium comes in many different grades or alloys. Most manufacturers opt for one of the more durable types of aluminium for knife handles, often using the same quality as the type used for aircraft construction.
