The **QSP Knife Hornbill** is a pocket knife with a distinct design. Like the bird this knife is named after, this pocket knife also has a special 'beak'. The shape of this is nothing too unusual, but the part around the opening mechanisms is special. A thumb stud is placed at the start of the thumb hole, giving the knife its unique look.




The QSP Knife Hornbill QS146-B1 Blue Carbon Fiber, Stonewashed, pocket knife is a nice EDC pocket knife in the colour blue, black. With its blade length of 8,2 cm, this knife is ideal for easy carrying. When closed, it's only 10,8 cm long, and it weighs 110 g.



You can easily open the QSP Knife Hornbill QS146-B1 Blue Carbon Fiber, Stonewashed, pocket knife with one hand using one of three opening mechanisms: the thumb hole, the thumb stud or the front flipper. 

Using a frontflipper takes a bit of practice, but once you've got it down it's a really efficient way to open a blade. The liner lock is also easy to operate with just one hand, and it ensures the blade remains locked in place and won't accidentally close during use.



## Blade Made of CPM S35VN Steel
The blade of this QSP Knife  is made from CPM S35VN steel. This is a premium stainless steel produced by Crucible Industries in the United States. S35VN retains its sharpness well, is quite tough and offers good corrosion resistance. CPM S35VN was developed as a successor to CPM S30V, in collaboration with world-renowned knife maker Chris Reeve.



The ‘stonewash’ process was chosen for the finish of this blade. The stonewash process involves the blade being placed inside a drum with ceramic stones, or media, and then vibrated or tumbled for several hours. The result is a finish that looks precisely polished or roughened depending on the version. The advantage of stonewashing, however, is that signs of use are much less noticeable. That makes it a popular choice for knives that see a lot of use.



## Carbon-fibre handle

The handle of this QSP Knife Hornbill QS146-B1 Blue Carbon Fiber, Stonewashed, pocket knife is made of carbon fibre, and measures 10,8 cm in length. Carbon fibre is an incredibly strong material. For the handles of pocket knives, carbon fibre sheet material is used. The carbon fibres, often first woven, are pressed into a strong resin under high pressure. The result is a super strong, lightweight material. It is no coincidence that this type of carbon fibre is also very popular in the construction of sports cars and racing cars, as well as in the aerospace industry.
