The **Silky Gomtaro** is a practical, fixed pruning saw. You use it to prune trees and shrubs. Because it has a fixed blade you don’t have to worry about it closing when you don’t want it to. In addition, when you have a fixed Silky blade you can perfectly align the shape and the ratio between the handle and the blade. Some believe that that is why the Gomtaro is even better to work with.


The handle is made from a comfortable rubber-like material and feels great in hand. After use or on the road you can safely store the Gomtaro in the sturdy plastic sheath. The sheath has been enhanced with a rubber belt loop. A great aspect of this belt loop is that you use a click system to attach it to your belt. As such you will be able to remove the sheath from your belt without loosening it. Also good to know: the sheath is perfect for right and left-handed use.


This coarse version has 8 teeth per 30 mm. As such it is perfect for the more demanding saw work and can easily tackle fresh wood. For this saw you can also purchase individual saw blades to replace your old ones.


 A Silky saw blade is very thin and hard. As a result it is amazing to work with. However, when you use it you need to pay extra attention to the blade. Why? This saw is a pull saw which means that the blade will not bend when you use it. Make sure that when the blade moves forward it is never forced because you will risk breaking it. Always lift the weight off the blade to release the saw. As with any saw: let the saw do the work and don’t force it. As a result you won’t get tired as fast and you won’t wear out the saw. The way you hold the handle determines how much wood you cut. Holding your hands close to the blade means that you put less pressure on the blade. As a result you can saw more precisely and more focused. When you hold the back of the handle the pressure will increase making you saw faster but less precise.


 If a Silky saw has been adorned with an impulse hardening symbol it means that the saw has been impulse hardened and that it cannot be sharpened with a file. You can see that the saw has been impulse hardened when you look at the blade and see that the tips of the serrations are black.


The Silky blade needs to be kept clean to make sure it stays in great shape. Resin dissolves when it comes into contact with olive oil which makes it an effective, environmentally-friendly product you can use to clean the blade. Please note: aggressive detergents can damage the rubber handle.


When you don’t use the saw you should put it in its storage case and store it somewhere dry.

Een geweldige snoeizaag ! De Silky Gomtaro ligt goed in de hand, vlijmscherp, laat mooie wonden achter en is uiterst duurzaam.
Mijn vorige snoeizaag was ook een Silky maar die heb ik helaas verloren. Ik ben blij dat ik bij Knives and Tools weer dezelfde superzaag kon kopen. En bedankt voor de snelle levering.

Onze hoogstamfruitbomen werden gesnoeid. We maakten gebruik van deze zaag. Geweldig. Ik heb hem gelijk aangeschaft. Mooie scherpe zaagsneden. De zaag valt mooi in de houder en met ene klik zit hij vast. Hij kan aan een riem. Schoonmaken doen we met een beetje sop en de afwasborstel en goed afspoelen.
