The **Spyderco Rescue 79mm C45SBK Black FRN** is a handy rescue knife, designed for quick and painless cutting of seat belts and clothing. If you are a rescue worker who is often in situations where people need to be freed from a precarious position, this is an ideal knife for you.

The blade is a blunt sheepsfoot shape with a straight edge. Its tip is neatly rounded so that you don't accidentally injure a victim. You open the blade with the thumb hole, and the back lock holds it firmly in place. The edge is fully serrated, making it perfect for cutting through high-fibre materials.

The reasons why Spyderco offers smaller knives are numerous, but essentially it comes down to the fact that people have different hand sizes and sometimes find themselves in social situations where the use of a smaller blade is appropriate. Many think that smaller versions of the same model are simply scaled-down versions, this is not the case. To bring each design to the highest level of ergonomic comfort and maximum performance, Spyderco often makes several small adjustments to incorporate them into a smaller form. An example of this is the 79mm version of the Rescue Model.

Once opened, the sturdy back lock ensures that the blade is locked and won't accidentally close during use. The back-lock mechanism is one of the oldest yet strongest locking mechanisms. The combination of thumb hole and back lock makes this knife easy to use by both left-handed and right-handed people.



## Steel: VG10
The blade of this Spyderco is made of VG10 steel. This is a very nice and popular type of steel from Japan. It is corrosion resistant, easy to sharpen to a razor-sharp edge and retains its sharpness very well.

## Handle made of FRN

The handle of the Spyderco Rescue 79mm C45SBK Black FRN, serrated pocket knife is made of FRN and measures 10,3 cm in length. FRN stands for *Fibre-Reinforced Nylon*. That makes it a type of plastic made from nylon, and reinforced with glass fibres for additional strength and durability. FRN is also known as GFN.



## Spyderco: great pioneer in the world of knives
