The **The James Brand The Duval** is a fancy and modern gentleman's knife. For this knife, the experts at The James Brand became inspired by the rich history of the Traditionals. The classic pocket knives your grandfather used to carry. However, those knives can only be opened with two hands, and don't feature a lock. Both issues were 'solved' for The Duval.




Opening the The James Brand The Duval KN109121-00 Ebony Black, pocket knife is incredibly fast thanks to the frontflipper, which allows for single-handed operation. Using a frontflipper takes a bit of practice, but once you've got it down it's really efficient. The pocket knife is equipped with ceramic ball bearings making opening and closing nice and smooth. Once opened, the frame lock ensures that the knife is locked and will not accidentally snap shut.



## Blade Made of CPM S35VN Steel
The blade of this The James Brand The Duval is made from CPM S35VN steel. This is a premium stainless steel produced by Crucible Industries in the United States. S35VN retains its sharpness well, is quite tough and offers good corrosion resistance. CPM S35VN was developed as a successor to CPM S30V, in collaboration with world-renowned knife maker Chris Reeve.



The blade is enhanced with a coating. Unfortunately, the manufacturer has not specified which type of coating has been applied, however, what we do know is that a coating generally protects against corrosion. However, it is always possible for the coating to start showing traces of use after a while, such as scratches. This is normal wear and tear that gives your knife character.
