The **Bark River Kitsuné Tanto** is a remarkable fixed knife, based on the classic Japanese tanto knife. Many people are probably thinking: 'wait a minute, that's not a tanto!' Well, it is, after all. What we in the West nowadays see as a tanto, with the sharp angle at the tip, is an American tanto. It doesn't have a lot in common with the Japanese original. On these knives the transition is a lot smoother. The same applies to this Bark River Kitsuné Tanto.

The Kitsuné Tanto is an amazing knife for different purposes. Its design is unique and it is simply a top-quality product. The large brass bolsters look amazing. Use this knife when hunting, camping or store it in your display case. A knife for outdoor enthusiasts.

The blade is made from CPM 154, a premium type of stainless steel that retains its sharpness well. As you'd expect from Bark River, the knife is razor-sharp. The edge has been enhanced with a convex grind which you can maintain by [stropping it](/en/ct/stropping.htm).

The handle is made of white pearl kirinite, a hard plastic with beautiful markings. The white pearl colours give the material a kind of depth. Stunning.

The Bark River Kitsuné Tanto comes with a leather sheath. The knife fits nicely, and can be carried both left and right-handed. This sheath has a belt loop with enough room for belts up to 5.0 cm.

Bark River Knives makes all of their knives almost entirely by hand. As a result, each knife is unique. Especially when working with natural materials, a knife will have a unique look. The knife you receive can therefore be subtly different from the product photos. The model and type of material, however, will always be the same.
