## Blade made of D2 steel
The blade of the Viper Basic 2 VT4032CG D2 Sheepsfoot Stonewashed, Green Canvas Micarta, fixed knife is made of D2. This is a tool steel that has been used for all kinds of cutting tools since World War II. It is tough, easy to sharpen and retains its sharpness very well. Do take care around moisture and acids; D2 is not entirely stainless. It may discolour or even rust if not properly taken care of.
