Fontenille Pataud Corsican L’Antò pocket knife: similar to the Corsican, but with a twist

The Fontenille Pataud Corsican L’Antò was designed by the famous Corsican knife maker family Zuria and the master knife maker Robert Beillonnet. The latter was declared the most skilled French knife maker in the years 1997 and 2000. The lines follow the traditional Corsican design, but have one unique difference: the palanquille-lock. Of course all Fontenille Pataud Corsican L’Antò knives are made by hand by skilled craftsmen working at Fontenille Pataud in the French village of Thiers.

Fontenille Corsican L’Antò: features

A tribute to Corsica's age-old knife tradition, the Fontenille Pataud Corsican L'Antò is a masterpiece of craftsmanship and aesthetics. The Fontenille Pataud Corsican L'Antò is a stunning French pocket knife with a classic look and feel. As you can tell by looking at the name, this model was inspired by the traditional Corsican model. The knife is almost the same the Corsican, but with a unique difference: the palanquille lock.

The palanquille lock

This remarkable lock works with a latch on the spine of the handle. This latch will lock the blade like a backlock, but unlocking it is slightly different. You don't press something down; instead you lift the latch to unlock it.

Fontenille Corsican L’Antò: the blade

The blade is made from Sandvik 14C28N steel. This is a stainless type of steel that retains its sharpness well, and that is also easy to sharpen. The pointed tip is perfect for the more detailed tasks. There is also enough 'belly' to cut a nice piece of steak.
