History of SOG knives

SOG Specialty Knives & Tools LLC, founded in 1986 by Spencer and Gloria Frazer, takes its name from the Military Assistance Command, Vietnam - Studies and Observations Group (MACV-SOG). This elite unit carried out secret missions during the Vietnam War, including liberating US POWs. SOG knives pay homage to this history, with designs that emphasise functionality and durability.

SOG's first knife was a replica of the original knife used by MACV-SOG. This legendary design laid the foundation for SOG's success.
