The **SOG Aegis AT** is a practical EDC pocket knife, for an amazing price. The design clearly matches the rest of the Aegis collection. The drop-point blade combined with the handle and its round shape is very recognizable. You quickly open the knife with the thumb stud, because of the assisted opening. This is a strong spring that will help it out a bit.




The SOG Aegis AT 11-41-06-41 Tan and Blaze, pocket knife is a nice EDC pocket knife in the colour desert-tan, orange, black. With its blade length of 8 cm, this knife is ideal for easy carrying. When closed, it's only 12,7 cm long, and it weighs 145 g.



## Blade made of D2 steel
The blade of the SOG Aegis AT 11-41-06-41 Tan and Blaze, pocket knife is made of D2. This is a tool steel that has been used for all kinds of cutting tools since World War II. It is tough, easy to sharpen and retains its sharpness very well. Do take care around moisture and acids; D2 is not entirely stainless. It may discolour or even rust if not properly taken care of. Therefore, it's important to clean and dry the blade after use, and a drop of oil every once in a while can't hurt.



## Handle made of FRN

The handle of the SOG Aegis AT 11-41-06-41 Tan and Blaze, pocket knife is made of FRN and measures 12,7 cm in length. FRN stands for *Fibre-Reinforced Nylon*. That makes it a type of plastic made from nylon, and reinforced with glass fibres for additional strength and durability. FRN is also known as GFN.



This knife is equipped with an ‘assisted opening’. This means that a spring gives the blade an extra push when you open it. As a result, it opens even faster and you can get to work smoothly. It's important to know that it really only assists you: you set the opening mechanism in motion, the spring simply gives a little push.

It is important to check whether you are allowed to carry this knife with assisted opening in your area. In some countries they are completely banned, in others you can own them but not carry them.



## About SOG Knives
SOG is a knife brand with a rich history. SOG means ‘Studies and Observation Group’, referring to a unit in the US army that carried out covert operations in Vietnam. For this specialised work in the jungle, they needed reliable knives. With reproductions of MACV-SOG knives, Spencer Frazer started SOG knives in 1986.
