Full description
The Robert Herder Buckels knife is a typical German breakfast knife in the classic “Buckels” shape. These knives are suitable for cutting bread, hard rolls, cheese and salami, and for spreading butter on bread. This is the stainless steel version with an ice beech handle. Ice beech is a type of beech wood. The special colour is caused by a fungus. This fungus develops each time the beech wood overturns. The moisture allows the fungus to develop well. Once dried, the fungus stops growing. This makes it possible to make beautiful knife handles with it. The German name "Eisbuche" (ice beech) refers to the effect of the veined grain, which may make you think of jagged icebergs. This wood is seamlessly attached to the blade with four rivets. Do not put this knife in the dishwasher.
